What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui is derived from the Chinese words — “wind” and “water”. Feng Shui started in China more than 6,000 years ago, and it was the early inspiration for the design of temples and other sacred places. Over the years, it has become an art of arranging buildings, objects, and space in an environment to achieve harmony and balance.
Feng Shui is based on the belief that there is a continuous flow of Qi, “vital energy”, between humans and their physical surroundings. According to traditional beliefs, Qi is made up of yin and yang elements. These are opposing but complementary forces that cannot be separated. People can improve the flow of Qi by balancing yin and yang elements. Therefore, Feng Shui is a method of balancing yin and yang and improving the flow of Qi by arranging furniture, decorations, buildings, and even whole cities in a beneficial way. The traditional Feng Shui practitioners believed that arranging things to create positive Qi would ensure good health, improve interpersonal relationships, and bring luck and prosperity.
What is Natural Feng Shui?
Natural Feng Shui is a philosophy of setting and placing buildings and elements in the natural environment. It aims to realise physical environments that encourage well-being through the utilisation of flowing Qi. Natural Feng Shui is not just a collection of beliefs or practices, but a scientific discipline that uses environmental psychology to improve the interrelationship between environments and human behaviour with Natural Energy.
In Natural Feng Shui, we believe that our surroundings affect our lives and vice versa. We understand that our living spaces are a reflection of our bodies, our minds and our souls. With proper configuration of the objects and space around us using the wisdom of Natural Feng Shui, we can maximize the flow of the Qi in our surroundings to sustain a happy life and an overall sense of well-being.
